Anglesey Abbey Hermes
Description
As part of the continued maintenance of the grounds of the Abbey, the planting was cut back and the path edgings replaced. During this process it became obvious that the Hermes were unstable and required cleaning to restore them to their former glory.
The works involved:
- Investigation works to establish previous fixing arrangements.
- Carefully removing the Hermes.
- Cleaning and repairing the Hermes in the workshop.
- Introducing new footings and re-fixing the Hermes.
