Rickling House
Description
This private house painted over brickwork and rendered elevations. The client wanted to restore the brickwork to its original – soft reds with lime joints and rubbed brick arches.
As the brickwork was in such poor condition after carefully cleaning off the paint finish, it was decided to replace one elevation of the façade. This meant carefully propping and removing the outer skin of bricks and rebuilding using Bulmer Brick Company hand made bricks to replace.
The remainder of the building received extensive brick repairs and re-pointing together with external joinery repairs and redecorations.
The final result was outstanding, transforming this import house back to its original spendour.
