Christs Lane, Cambridge
Description
As part of the careful regeneration of parts Cambridge city centre, the 1960s concrete faced Bradwells Court shopping precinct was demolished and a more sympathetic stone faced building comprising of retail and accommodation units constructed. The scheme also re-opened Christ’s Lane passage, a pedestrian passage that links the 2 retail centres of the city, closed to public access by the former building.
The works involved:
- The drawing works for both the natural stone and pre-cast elements of the project.
- The supply and fixing of the Ancaster Hard-White stonework was under our control to suit the progress of the development as a whole.
- With the site being the foot print of the building, logistics were important and called for ‘just-in-time’ deliveries.
